Adam Scott in Talks to Headline Hot Tub Time Machine 2

Earlier this year, it was revealed that MGM is moving forward with plans to create a sequel to the 2010 sci-fi comedy hit Hot Tub Time Machine. Today, The Wrap reports that "Parks and Recreation" star Adam Scott is in talks to take the leading role, as John Cusack will not be returning.

Craig Robinson, Rob Corddry and Clark Duke are all expected to reprise their roles from the original film with Scott taking on the part of an all-new character. Director Steve Pink is also set to return.

The first film follows a group of best friends who've become bored with their adult lives: Adam (Cusack) has been dumped by his girlfriend; Lou (Corddry) is a party guy who can't find the party; Nick's (Robinson) wife controls his every move; and video game-obsessed Jacob (Duke) won't leave his basement. After a crazy night of drinking in a ski resort hot tub, the men wake up, heads' pounding, in the year 1986.
